Announcing the milestone, EasyExport co-founder and CEO Jeff Grody said, “In early 2019, we set out to open the global market to every American seller of firearms, parts, optics, or accessories. With one full-time employee and two part-time software engineers, our mission was to reduce the prohibitive cost of legally exporting guns and related products by automating everything that could be automated. By July 2021, we had built enough of the software to launch operations while continuing our work. Last week, we finally put the finishing touches on the system as originally conceived. It took 3 ½ years, but we built everything we set out to build – and the end result is a miracle.”
EasyExport’s software consists of three subsystems. The core components process export orders instantly for export and import requirements. A second part of the system manages the registration of international buyers, who must be approved before they can use the EasyExport platform to shop. The third system automates the shipping process, enabling sellers to prepare accurate shipping labels, customs forms, and AES filings, and to interact with commercial freight forwarders effortlessly.
The EasyExport service includes expert personnel who operate the software for sellers. By including operating personnel, EasyExport provides firearm industry manufacturers and resellers with a total exporting solution. Most importantly, we have begun to channel our transaction data back to EasyExport sellers to give them a competitive advantage in the international market. Much more is in progress for release later this year and in 2023.”
